I am back from my retreat weekend in beautiful Cascade, ID! It was really good and relaxing! I have to admit it was a bit rough on my healthy eating choices, though.
We stopped by Chil-Fil-A for lunch and than ate out again for dinner on Friday. I felt like I chose quite wisely at both places, though. I had 3 chicken strips at Chil-Fil-A and ordered a veggie omelette with a side of fruit for dinner.
On Saturday morning, I passed on the bacon and hash browns and had scrambled egg, oatmeal, and fruit instead. For lunch there was a pasta bar with ceasar salad and I had to be very mindful of my portion sizes. Dinner was very healthy, though, consisting of chicken, broccoli, red potatoes, and salad. I even passed on dessert!
The best choice I think I made this weekend by far was to continue with my 5K training. While the others were out shopping or taking a nap, I ran. A 5 minute warm-up followed by 20 minutes of running without walking and ending with a 5 minute cool-down! It was really hard and the hills made it even worse, but I did it!

I did not make as good of choices on Sunday. I just could not pass up the cinnamon roll that looked so delicious. It was really yummy, but a bit too sweet for me. So I ended up having half of it and yogurt with fruit and granola. Then we stopped at Red Robin for lunch. I was able to resist the red velvet cake, but not my favorite dish. I had the BBQ Chicken Wrap with fries. For dinner, my hubby made pasta and ceasar salad and I had a little of each followed by a very small scoop of ice cream.
I have jumped right back into my healthy choices today! I ran this morning and than had a boiled egg with guacamole wrap. Lunch was a turkey sandwich and dinner was Spaghetti Squash Turkey Marinara Bake. That recipe was a hit with the whole family and it has less than 300 calories per serving!
Looking forward to making more great choices tomorrow!
