Hebrews 12:1 …And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
As you probably already know, I have really gotten into running over the past few years. I started running in March 2013. I ran my first 5K in June 2013, and than ran my first Half Marathon in October 2013. At that race I saw this large group of runners wearing the same shirt that had “Run 4 Heaven’s Gate” and “52.4 miles of love!” on it. I felt compelled to look up what this group was all about. As I watched the video at https://www.run4heavensgate.org and learned about how children in India with HIV/AIDS get abandoned, I knew that this was something that I was being led to do. I learned that it is an annual event where you complete 4 Half Marathons (52.4 miles) in 30 days to help raise awareness and funds for these abandoned children in India suffering from HIV/AIDS.
So if you woukd take the time to watch the video yourself and prayerfully consider partnering with me to help these children this year I would greatly appreciate it. My running began as a personal journey for me, but it has turned into being something bigger than myself. I can’t do a lot for these children myself, but I can use this passion of running that I now have to help these children who have been truly outcast and abandoned.
I pay all of my own entry fees and there is no administrative overhead associated with the events, so 100% of donations go directly to these children in India. Donations of any size really helps. Almost $500,000 has been raised over the past 7 years already, so you can see how if we all do a little bit it can add up to a lot.
