The weather is looking like it will shape up for me to finally get in a good run this weekend. Temps up to 40 degrees and winds down to only 5mph! I'm getting really excited to get out there and run more than just 1 mile straight! Hoping I can beat that this weekend!
My workouts have been going great lately. I have been keeping up with my planned workouts (except for the Zumba class I missed last night), but I am still needing to improve my eating and my water intake. Right now I am aiming for at least 90 oz of water a day and I am back to using my LoseIt app for my calorie counting. My calorie budget is at 1470 right now, but it slowly goes down as I lose more weight. I had a couple of days this week where I stayed under my calorie budget AND got in my water intake AND did my workout for the day!! I am aiming to achieve that ALL WEEK LONG!!
How are you doing with your goals for the New Year? What do you need to work on more? Are you planning to run any races? Have you signed up for any races already?
I went to check how many miles I have run on my shoes and was really happy to see this report from all my running last year:
First up is the Speed to Feed Idaho 5K on March 8th. Then I wanted to run a 10K during my Half marathon training. I have never ran a 10K race so I am kind of excited about adding that in. The one I am looking at is the West Valley 10K on April 12th. Then I will run the Color Me Rad 5K on May 3rd which I have already registered for. I have also registered for my first Half marathon for the year, the Famous Idaho Potato Half Marathon on May 17th. Then I think I will take a bit of a break from races during the heat of the Summer, but I will need to keep up my mileage because I plan on running 2 more Half's. The FitOne Half on September 20th and the City of Trees Half Marathon again on October 12th.
Talking about running races, I am so excited to have my ten year old son join me for his first 5K this year! I just signed us both up for the Color Me Rad 5K that's in Boise on May 3rd. I will start running training with him the beginning of March. I am very happy to be getting my kid involved in this thing called running that I have found to be so enjoyable!
