To say that life has gotten busy would be a huge understatement! This last week was so busy! My kindergartener no longer had his afternoon class so he had half days of school. Meaning an extra drive to the school for me. It is only about 10 minutes each way, but that really got my days out of whack!
Wednesday night my 3 kids had their awards ceremony for Awanas. They all finished their books this year and the 5 yo even finished the review of his book! I am so proud of my children for memorizing so many Bible verses! Thursday night was the end of the year ceremony for my 3 year old's preschool where she even got a little diploma. Then Saturday was my (almost 6 year old) son's birthday party and today was his kindergarten graduation! Whew!
My weight this week went up a little bit, but I have decided to not focus on that.
Weight- 181.5 (up 1.2)
The numbers I do want to focus on are that I ran all 3.1 miles today without walking in only 35 minutes 25 seconds! Averaging an under 11:30 min/mile pace! Woo Hoo! I feel like I can now officially be called a runner! 5K in June here I come!!

I never thought that I would be a runner, though. I tried to follow the C25K program a few different times, but always quit. I didn't enjoy running and I just couldn't make it past running for 3 minutes!
A few years ago, I really wanted to be able to run a 5K without walking, but I gave up after only about 2 weeks of following the C25K program. I ran/walked a 5K that year and really enjoyed it, but didn't feel like a runner. I still had a desire, though, to run a 5K without walking. I just wasn't sure I would ever really be able to accomplish it. I didn't feel like it was something I would ever be able to do.
After trying to follow the C25K program another time or two but quitting, I was ready to give up. I thought that I was just never meant to be a runner. I couldn't even run for more than 3 minutes for crying out loud!
I can't believe I ever allowed myself to believe that. I am so glad that I did not quit this time. It wasn't easy, but it was so worth it! If you have a goal, don't give up on it. Keep moving towards that goal and don't give up!
I just ran more than 35 minutes today because I didn't give up this time! I still do not enjoy running (at least not while I am doing it), but I really love the way that I feel afterwards. I feel like I have really accomplished something.
If I can do this so can you! Just start out slow and add a little bit each week. That is what I love so much about the C25K program.
