Hello, my name is LaTara and I am on a journey to a healthier me. This is my place to journal about that journey to keep me motivated.
I am 32 years old, have been married for 11 years, and am a mother to 3 young children aged 9, almost 6, and 3 1/2. I am 5'6" tall. My current weight is 183.6, but I have been as heavy as 198. I will have more on the ups and downs of my weight over the years in my next post.
I have read thru some blogs recently that have inspired my to begin my own blog. I hope to be an inspiration to others someday, too. Until then, this is a way for me to keep track of my journey.
My goals have been to be overall healthier, weigh 145-150, and to fit into a size 6. I plan to get there by eating healthier, drinking more water and exercising, hopefully leading to a 5 pound weight loss each month as well as loss of inches. Over the past 4 weeks, I have been doing the C25K three days a week, Zumba two days a week, and Bob Harper's Pure Burn DVD two days a week. I have also been keeping my calorie intake to no more than 1500 per day (using the LoseIt app).

In doing this, I have been losing an average of 1-1.5 pounds per week. Yippee! Now to keep this journey going...
