I'm not even sure where to start with this post. So much has happened that I want to share. First of all, most of last week went by in a blur due to me getting sick. 😷 I ended up sleeping through most of both Tuesday and Thursday. I did get a workout in on Monday before I got sick, but nothing for the rest of the week. I made up for that by working out every day Saturday-Tuesday.
On Saturday I got my treadmill! I was so excited about being able to run and not have to fight with the weather! I went 3.5 miles on Saturday afternoon. I went at a much slower pace, but was able to run for 2 miles straight! Then another mile straight after a 1/4 mile walk. I'm building up for that half marathon training I need to start on February 18th. EEK!!
Sunday I did the "Hit the Deck" workout that Bob Harper did on the Biggest Loser last season. You pick 4 different exercises (1 to represent each suit). I chose burpees, dumbbell rows, push-ups, and squats (I believe this is what he used on the show also, but not positive). You go through a deck of cards doing the number of reps that's on the card (aces=1 and Jack, Queen, and King=10). Example: 7 of hearts is 7 squats. I had my kids pick the card from the deck and be my "trainer". They loved it! It didn't take too long (30-45 mins I think), but wow was it tough!
Then Monday I did the Biggest Loser Last Chance Workout DVD. Jillian is really rough in that one! It is about 45 mins of HIIT. It switches back and forth between one minute of cardio and one minute of strength.
On Tuesday I ran/walked 3 miles on the treadmill while watching a show on Netflix. I definitely run better with music, but I still got in a good 45 minute workout. 😉
The next exciting news is that I won the diet bet I signed up for! I lost more than 4% of my body weight over a 28 day period! I lost 7.2 lbs from Jan 5th to Feb 3rd! I was so proud of myself for actually accomplishing this!
My weekly weigh ins on Wednesdays have looked like this over the past few weeks:
Jan 22nd - 176.7 (I had gained 1.1)
Jan 29th - 173 (I lost 3.7!)
Feb 5th - 172.1 (I lost 0.9!)
