Yesterday was the first day of Summer break for the kids. With them home all day, I figured that I am going to need to change up my workouts a bit. I still plan on making it to Zumba every Tuesday and Thursday night and running every Saturday morning. I wasn't sure at first what I would do for my weekday morning workouts, though. I knew that I needed to fit some strength training in to balance out all the cardio. Then I remembered Jillian's 30 Day Shred! It is short, has strength training, and works your abs! So I began my 30 days yesterday (with the kids)! I will not be doing 30 days straight, just weekdays (minus every other Friday when I go into Boise for me time). I am on day 2 out of 30 and can already feel my muscles aching!

Does anybody want to join me? Who doesn't want to get mean abs in the month of June?!? Of course this one was from a couple years ago so the days of the week are off, but I still plan to follow it as best I can.
I am getting so excited about my new workout plan! I just hope my 3 yo, 6 yo, and 9 yo will cooperate with me ;). I know that the 9 yo will! He joined me for my 1 mile run this morning and the 30 Day Shred DVD. (Well at least part of it)
I ran 1 mile this morning to see how fast I could run it. I came in at 10:03 minutes. I didn't get a picture before my watch transferred the data to my computer so here is the proof from my computer:

It's really good, but just a bit on the spicy side with the chipotle peppers. It came in at under 200 calories! I will definitely be making it again with those kind of nutritional values! Give it a try and see what you think.
