On Friday, I headed into Boise for some fun! I got a manicure, had lunch with a friend I haven't seen in over a month, got a pedicure, climbed Table Rock, and went to the expo with some friends to pick up our packets for the Fit One 5K we had the next day.
I was all full of energy on Saturday morning and just could not wait for the race to start! When the waves ahead of mine started, I was so anxious I could barely contain myself. I just couldn't stand still. My legs were itching to run!
When it was time for my wave to start, I had to walk for the first 30 seconds or so to make my way to where I could get out of the crowd and start running. From there, though, I was free to run my own pace. The run felt great! Then I got to the hill... I felt my pace slow down and my breathing pick up. I kept running, though, and never had to slow to a walk. Once at the top of the hill, I could feel the relief and the running felt (dare I say it) easy again!
The race went great! The run felt awesome! I felt on top of the world! I finished in 32:49! I broke my person record (PR) which is what I was going for. I came in 127th out of 3,600 people. It is just amazing to see how far I have come!
